The father’s artistic talent is clearly on display here, but I’m actually really impressed with this kid’s wild imagination. Many of his drawings are both conceptually unique and coherent.
please note what I assume to be clarifying notes, like the one pointing out the electricity in the last image- these aren’t doodles, he has a strong concept he wants to communicate. He likely talked with his dad about what he was trying to draw, which would explain the much harder transitions you see occasionally where a concept carries over highly faithfully but significant design elements are changed. This kid has a potential future as a character designer or mangaka, especially if his dad teaches him how to draw.
Yeah that’s my favorite thing about this. It’s not “tracing over my kid’s drawings but with nightmarishly hyperreal coloring and shading,” the dad actually tries to capture the spirit of what his son wants to draw but can’t due to lack of experience.
Floating islands in Norway. While bizarre, the phenomenon of floating islands is fairly common around the world. Composed of aquatic plants, mud, and other detritus, they’re generally capable of supporting not only a varied aquatic community below, but also small trees and species above. They tend to form when plants like cattails or reeds extend out into deeper water and are torn loose from shore by storms. I agree, having characters with red hair made a lot more people envy and compliment my own red hair, and it made me feel beautiful, and I now love my red hair rather than people making fun off it and me hating it.
I want black people to have the same experience, because people make fun of their natural hair, and I want them to know their hair is beautiful the way it is, which having a black Ariel will help, especially little girls
